At the centre of all my work is a simple belief, organisations function best when the systems are clear, the technology is useful, and the people inside the organisation feel capable, respected, and supported.
I work at the intersection of systems, behaviour, and leadership.
My career began in the healthcare system, running health services, hospitals and remote health services. Over time I became increasingly interested in a bigger questions. “why do organisations / business units with good people and good intentions still struggle to function well?”, “Why do leaders spend 80% of their time trouble shooting”. That curiosity led me to study behaviour analysis, leadership development, and organisational systems as a way to support business to develop in a sustainable way.
Across more than three decades I have worked in complex, highly legislated and controlled environments including health, disability, aged care, and randomly international expedition and experiential leadership. I have led teams in some of the most remote and challenging settings on earth from Antarctica to Saudi Arabia to outback Australia. Experiences that have reinforced a simple truth, strong systems and psychologically safe teams are essential when the stakes are high.
Today I bring my experience, knowledge and learnings into organisations through consulting, mentoring, and systems design.
I am the founder of Mindful Innovative Action, a business focused on ensuring that high quality neurodiverse behaviour analysis services are available throughout Australia. We have over 20 sites across Australia and we support allied health practitioners to build sustainable health practices.
My approach as both a health practitioner and a business owner and consultant is practical and systems-focused. Rather than treating technology, culture, and operations as separate problems, I look at how they interact. That perspective informs my work helping organisations integrate technology, operational systems, and behaviour analysis in ways that support both performance and human wellbeing.
